It's officially eveningwear season. With endless holiday gatherings, winter weddings, and other stylish soirees headed our way in the coming months, the options for getting dressed to the nines can feel a bit stretched thin. Italian design legend brought glitz and glam to the Upper East Side, showcasing the brand's spring/summer collection in New York on October 17. The dress code for the night required black tie attire, with celebs like Amanda Seyfried, Brooke Shields, Chase Stokes, and Orlando Bloom showing up in Armani's fabulous frocks and James Bond-worthy suits. Anderson went the more effortless chic route, wearing a shiny geometric sequined jacket over a creamy silk blouse paired with pants in our favorite fall trend: velvet.

Anderson made a strong case for wearing velvet this season by making the sumptuous fabric look decent and modern. While she may have worn a form-fitting dress in previous years, her red-carpet style has evolved to include more sophisticated separates and classic tailoring.
